September is the perfect time to rethink the way we shop. Second Hand September is an annual campaign encouraging people to boycott buying brand-new clothing and embrace pre-loved fashion instead.
Residents from New Hope House and HopeHomes recently enjoyed a memorable day out at the seaside in Littlehampton. Organised by the Cultivate team and funded by donations, the trip gave residents the chance to take a break from their usual routines and spend a relaxing day together by the scenic West Sussex coast.
A team of five from Touchstone Underwriting of Iveco House, Watford Junction, will lace up their walking boots on Saturday, September 12, to take on the famous Thames Bridges Challenge, raising funds for New Hope.
New Hope House is taking practical steps to become greener after receiving a £300 grant from Hertfordshire Community Foundation. The funding has enabled New Hope to invest in a water butt and water collection system, a hot composting system and a Bokashi composting system.
Events
Join 2500 walkers and trek 25km across the Capital with unrivalled views of the skyline & landmarks. From a Putney Bridge start it’s East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges, each with a fascinating story – and a mid-point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for snacks & drinks. 25km later, beyond the majestic Tower Bridge, it’s a party style finish line celebration & afternoon picnic in Southwark Park.
A 50km looped challenge in some of the Chilterns finest countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, with fantastic views. Join up to 2,000 adventurers and take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run - and fundraise for New Hope!
Starting and finishing in front of the iconic Knebworth House, the route takes in the grounds of Knebworth Park before heading out to the surrounding country lanes. This road closed course gives you the opportunity to enjoy the rural roads totally traffic free – this is the first mass participation event with closed roads staged at Knebworth House!
The event spans two days in the renowned coastal city, celebrating the vibrant community of Brighton and Hove. The 2027 event will attract up to 20,000 participants across three events: the Brighton Miles, the Brighton and Hove 10K, and the Brighton Marathon.
